Domaine Mallet is the story of Alexandre and his vineyards. In 2024, as a tribute to all those who came before him, he reinvented Champagne Mallet, dropping the first names and simply calling it Domaine, as a link between memory and renewal, leaving his personal mark on the family estate. Paradoxically, by eclipsing his first name, he leaves his mark on this lineage and extends a collective memory by modernizing it.
The estate, based in Trélou-sur-Marne, covers 28 plots spread over five communes in the Marne Valley, with a strong predominance of Meunier (80%), the grape variety that defines the local terroir. It stands out in particular for its vinification without malolactic fermentation across the entire range, a rarity that preserves the crystalline freshness and aromatic purity of the wines. The micro-cuvées, true tributes to the soils and those who worked them, are conceived as fragments of liquid memory.
Domaine Mallet is all about authenticity, sincerity, and a touch of mischief too. Here, we don't try to be like everyone else. We champion Meunier, we embrace the Marne Valley, we color our labels, we limit inputs, and we respect living things without falling into dogma.
Certified HVE and VDC, Alexandre advocates sustainable, reasonable, and thoughtful viticulture, and believes that biodiversity can also be achieved through simple actions: planting hedges, reducing herbicides, and enriching the soil naturally.
To meet those who bring champagne to life around the world, so that the bottles travel, the story spreads, and Domaine Mallet becomes a brand that shines beyond Trélou. A dream? No, a goal. A trajectory. And an ambition: that tomorrow, when opening a bottle of Champagne Mallet, we don't just open a bottle, but a memory, a place, a fragment of the soul.
